To celebrate World Whisky Day 2017, Stir and Balblair hosted an intimate media tasting at Hedonism Wines, Mayfair. The event took place a week ahead of World Whisky Day and aimed to encourage whisky tasting amongst key journalists.
The evening was a chance for attendees to enjoy the many different nuances of Balblair, accompanied perfectly with a selection of canapés, whilst hearing about the story behind the liquid from Global Brand Ambassador, Andy Hannah. Journalists had the chance to samples some of Balblair’s favourites.
Balblair 2005 – A smooth vanilla and toffee flavoured whisky that leaves a deliciously spicy, long finish.
Balblair 1999 – With honey and green apple notes, complimented by a hint of spice, citrus fruits and vanilla.
Balblair 1990 – A medley of spicy and sweet aromas, punctuated with notes of raisins, toffee and honey.
To finish off, guests had a chance to taste the super luxurious 1969. As the name suggests, the range was distilled in 1969! It was bottled in 2012 after spending 43 years in ex-bourbon American oak casks. Only 999 bottles of this extraordinary whisky have been produced.
Stir secured journalists from titles such as Vogue, GQ and The Guardian and received amazing feedback from all attendees. Overall it was a really fun and engaging way to learn all about the brand.
